– The title originally was meant to align with how the story itself would go ‘off the rails’ and turn from the ghost story into a story about the boy dealing with his mom’s wrath at the end. That idea was mostly scrapped, but the title remained.
– The ghost children were inspired by the movie “Trick r’ Treat’.
